THE HENRY V

PROJECT

Selections written by William Shakespeare
Directed by AJ Schwartz
SEPT 30 - OCT 1, 2016
Underground Laboratory Theatre

The Henry V Project explores modern-day militarism, political climates, and power imbalances. Viewed through a contemporary lens and with the role of Henry V portrayed by a woman, this workshop places complex controversies under the scrutiny of the public eye. How do English invasions of France in the 15th century relate to American occupation of the Middle East in the 21st century? How are a leader’s troubles and triumphs complicated by a female identity? What are alternative approaches to building a more equitable system of government?
